Recently, multiple energy storage battery and material projects have announced updated progress: CATL's 80 GWh project has entered steel structure construction, Shenzhen Pengcheng Infinite New Energy Co., Ltd. launched the building of a 27 GWh energy storage cell base, 3d (Longyan) Battery Technology Co., Ltd.'s 1 GWh solid-state lithium battery project officially broke ground, and Tianmulake Excellent Anode Materials Co., Ltd.'s lithium battery material project was signed and finalized. South Tarawa invests in energy storage project
The project will (i) introduce the first-of-its-kind near-shore marine floating solar photovoltaic power plant; (ii) install a battery energy storage system (BESS) and transmission grid with smart energy management systems; (iii) integrate clean transport applications such as an electric boat, electric cars, and charging stations; and (iv) adopt nature-based coastal protection solutions, including electric reef regeneration, to address multiple challenges in climate change mitigation and adaptation in Kiribati.
